Colombina Poker is modeled in papier-mâché, like all traditional Venetian masks.
It is then decorated by hand in Venice with non-toxic acrylic paints, stuccos and paints with gold leaf inserts.
With this mask, Maskerelle wanted to inspire Harlequin’s clothing, the colors of the patches on his uniform reflect those of the mask.
The figure of Harlequin is importantly present in the Commedia dell’Arte, written by Carlo Goldoni,
as a poor, crafty and in love servant of the maid Colombina.
To give a touch of originality, a decupage detail has also been added, the typical poker playing card. Colombina can be worn at Carnival
parties because it is equipped with satin ribbons or kept as a furnishing component and collection. In conclusion, each creation is signed on the back by the artist and the certificate of guarantee of “handmade” in Venice is always included.
